PEDIATRIC CHIROPRACTIC
Chiropractic care can be extremely beneficial for one's health right from birth. Often the first signs of subluxation (misalignment or abnormal movement of the joints of the spine) can happen during even the most gentle births! Some of the most common things to look for in newborns that may indicate subluxations are: breastfeeding or latching difficulties, baby favoring turning head to one direction or a restriction in motion, stiffness or rigidity, irritable temperament, reflux and constipation. Chiropractic care and specific body work is also important in infants who have oral ties. Babies with oral ties tend to have midline body tension, along with tension in the jaw and palate. This can affect the ability to breastfeed and can make them uncomfortable. We are able to work with the cranial bones, palate, and surrounding structures to help them function optimally.
While the philosophy of chiropractic is the same no matter what the age, the technique is very different. We use about the amount of pressure that one would use to check the ripeness of a tomato to adjust an infant. It is safe, gentle and effective.
PRENATAL CHIROPRACTIC
First, we are so honored to be able to help expecting moms have a more enjoyable pregnancy, and prepare their bodies for birth. There are numerous benefits to regular chiropractic care during pregnancy. Many women experience significant relief from musculoskeletal pain during pregnancy, such as lower back, hip, pelvis pain and sciatica. In addition, research has shown that women under regular chiropractic care have a 25-30% reduction in labor time, their baby is more likely to be in an optimal birthing position, and their recovery time after birth is faster.
Dr. Kori has been focusing on prenatal chiropractic in our office for nearly 20 years. She is certified in Webster technique, which is a specific analysis and adjustment of the sacrum (tailbone) and surrounding structures, in order to allow the baby to assume the perfect birthing position. She offers specific accommodations and techniques so that her prenatal patients are safe and comfortable until the very end of pregnancy.
WELLNESS CHIROPRACTIC
Our goal with chiropractic care is restore normal motion to the spine and surrounding structures and allow the body to move and function like it was intended. We do this by checking the spine and its motion on each visit, make the necessary corrections, and give advice on how to improve its function. Our care is patient centered. Every patient has different goals and like to be adjusted with different techniques. We find the style of adjusting that works best for each patient and that the person feels the most comfortable with. Some patients may want to have less pain or treat an injury, some may want to improve athletic performance while others may want to maintain a healthy functioning body and nervous system. Some of our patients feel like they need more regular care while others like to come in when they feel like they need it. Either way we are always here to help our patients in any way we can. We love what we do and enjoy helping others.

ACUPUNCTURE
According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, Acupuncture is a technique in which practitioners insert fine needles into the skin to treat health problems. The needles may be manipulated manually or stimulated with small electrical currents (electroacupuncture). Acupuncture has been in use in some form for at least 2,500 years. While it is not fully understood exactly how acupuncture works, studies have shown that it has a beneficial affect on the nervous system and the connective tissue of the body. Research has shown that acupuncture may be helpful for several pain conditions, including back or neck pain, knee pain associated with osteoarthritis, and postoperative pain. It may also help relieve joint pain associated with the use of aromatase inhibitors, which are drugs used in people with breast cancer. Additionally, it can be a means of natural labor induction at the end of pregnancy.
